SHOULD I STAGE MY HOME?

Homes that are staged to current market trends show and sell faster and easier than homes that are vacant or not staged.

There are 3 main ways you can stage a home:

#1 Professional Staging:

  • This is the most well known and the most expensive of all the options, but there is a reason why people still use it. There is a great ROI when homes are staged vs. left vacant or cluttered.

#2 DIY staging

  • You do not necessarily need to hire a professional staging company to stage your home and spend thousands if you are willing to watch some YouTube tutorials and search Instagram tags such as #interiordesign #homestylingtips #homestagingstips  #homedesign. Pintrest also has up to date trends on what people are using to stage their homes. I have seen local interior design companies use items bought from Studio Mcgee Target sections, Homegoods, and TJ Max to style multimillion dollar homes, and they charge double or triple the cost. If you are willing to put in some research and elbow grease and spend some money, then you get to keep the staging elements and sell your home for more money.

#3 Virtual Staging

  • This form of staging is fairly new. It emerged more popularly during COVID. This is the cheapest staging option but only stages the pictures online. This gets more people in the door to sell your home, but usually provides some level of disappointment when people actually walk in the home. Not enough data yet to show the effectiveness of virtual staging.
